Metrics Management: Set Up KPI Targets
Learn how to configure KPI targets and performance thresholds
The Metrics Management section allows you to define and manage Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets across your organization.
These targets serve as benchmarks for performance evaluation, helping teams quickly identify whether metrics such as Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Error, or FVA are meeting expectations.
By establishing clear thresholds, you ensure that performance reviews are data-driven, transparent, and aligned with business goals.
What Are KPI Targets Used For?
KPI Targets allow you to set goal thresholds for key performance indicators such as Forecast Bias, Error, or FVA. These targets are displayed in dashboards and review pages to help teams compare current performance vs. expected performance.
How to Access KPI Targets
- Go to Metrics Management from the left-hand menu.
- Select the Targets tab at the top of the page.
- Use Filter by Client and Filter by Timeframe (e.g. YTD, MTD, Quarterly) to view relevant targets.
✏️ How to Edit an Existing Target
- Locate the metric you want to update (e.g.
% Bias
,FVA
, etc.).
- Click Edit in the Actions column.
- A window will open where you can adjust the target details:
Field | Description |
Metric Name | The metric being evaluated (read-only). |
Timeframe | Applicable reporting period (e.g. YTD, QTR). |
KPI Value | Current actual performance value. |
Category | Classification (e.g. Executive, Operational, etc.). |
Target Value | Desired performance threshold (e.g. 5%, -2%, < 10%, etc.). |
- Enter the Target Value.
- Click Update to save your changes.
➕ How to Create a New Target (if applicable)
- Click Add Target to create a new performance benchmark.
- Enter the required details for the new metric, including name, category, and target value.
- Save your entry and refresh the list to view it among the existing metrics.
🧩 Best Practices
- Set realistic but challenging targets based on historical performance.
- Use consistent timeframes across metrics to standardize reporting.
- Regularly review and adjust targets as performance improves.
